Woolston and Bursledon Folk Club

Welcome to Woolston and Bursledon Folk Club

Welcome to the website of Woolston and Bursledon Folk Club.

The club is now running on every second Sunday of the month from 7.30pm (Doors open at 7pm). In addition we have occasional extra guest nights on the fourth Sunday of the month.

We meet at The Bursledon Village Hall, Long Lane, Bursledon, Hampshire SO31 8BZ and  we aim to start sessions at 7.30pm and go through to 10.45pm.

We are, primarily,  a folk club but we do not restrict ourselves to purely ‘traditional’ or ‘contemporary’ folk music. Blues, Country, Music Hall and sometimes even 60s pop may be heard! – indeed, any good acoustic music.

Whether you sing, play an instrument, follow the tradional folk art of story telling or just like to listen, you will be made very welcome by our community of music lovers.

Come experience the warm atmosphere and discover the joy of live acoustic music and the pleasure of joining in the chorus.

As Sam is no longer with us we no longer have a bar so bring your own drinks, please.

Tea and coffee are still available.

ENTRANCE FEES

On Singaround/Session Nights, Open Stage/’Come all ye’ and 'A Spotlight On.....' evenings there will be a jug collection with a suggested minimum of £3 to cover the cost of the hall and club expenses.

On Guest nights we suggest a minimum of £5.

For national artists a higher fee may be charged but will be published prior to the event.

Join us for a night of traditional folk music at the Bursledon Village Hall. We meet every second Sunday of the month from 7:30pm to 10:45pm, we are a welcoming community of music lovers. Our club celebrates the rich heritage of folk music, featuring both local and guest performers. Come experience the warm atmosphere and discover the joy of live folk music.

As you can see from the photo above, our ranks have expanded to six! We welcome Howard Bown, who is much in demand for his guitar skills and will add his expertise to our performances whenever his other music commitments allow.
The six piece line-up will give us even more scope in our musical arrangements and we are really looking forward to some great gigs this year.
Long may the music continue!.

Beggars Belief are Howard Bown, Barry Wake, Mary Lee, Ali Campion, Liz Trueman and Hamish Gavin
